Frequently Asked Questions
Getting started
What does $958 a week actually cover?
An entire full time role, properly managed. One dedicated Role Manager backed by a full team of NZ-based and global specialists and smart automation keeping everything moving. Exactly what that covers is different from business to business. You'll provide us with a job description during onboarding and we'll go from there! It's priced at the equivalent of minimum wage, which makes it significantly less than the true cost of a full-time hire once you add KiwiSaver, leave entitlements, and recruitment.
Is this a full-time role or just a few hours a week?
This is a full-time equivalent role. Your Role Manager is dedicated to your business and runs the function properly, the same way a full-time hire would, just without the associated risks and overhead.
How quickly can you get started?
Quickly. Once you've had a conversation with Brenna and we understand what the role looks like, we can have the ball rolling within days. We don't need months of onboarding because we've been working inside businesses like yours since 2012. We know what these roles look like from day one.
Will my Role Manager understand my industry?
We've worked across trades, professional services, and service businesses throughout New Zealand, Australia, and the United States since 2012. When you tell us what the role looks like, we'll match you with someone who has relevant experience. And if the role involves something specific we haven't seen before, we ask the right questions and get across it quickly.
What's the difference between this and hiring a VA through another agency?
Most VA agencies sell hours or tasks, we fill roles. Your Role Manager owns the function, not just the to-do list. They're accountable for the role running properly, not just for completing what you remember to send them.
How it works
What hours will my Role Manager be available?
Our office hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. We're closed on all NZ public holidays and Wellington Anniversary
Can my Role Manager make calls on my behalf?
Yes. Outbound calls are no problem and are made from our VOIP phone system or mobile phones.
Can my Role Manager make purchases on my behalf?
Yes. We can take down your card details securely over the phone and make purchases on your behalf. We use LastPass to manage all login and payment information, meaning our team never sees the raw credentials. We can also sign a non-disclosure agreement if required.
What systems does my Role Manager use?
All of our Role Managers are proficient in G Suite and Microsoft Office 365. We work across a wide range of apps and tools and it's likely we already know the systems you're on. If not, we learn quickly.
What happens during onboarding?
The first week starts with a Strategy and Handover Session - up to 90 minutes with your dedicated Role Manager and our Tech Lead. We get across your business, your systems, and how you like to work. From there we handle the setup behind the scenes and the role is running from week two. We'll walk you through everything in detail once you're on board.
The team
What happens if my Role Manager is sick or on leave?
Someone who already knows your business covers the work. That's the benefit of having a full team behind one point of contact - there's no single point of failure. You won't be left waiting for someone to come back before things move again.
What if I need something completed that my Role Manager can't do?
Your Role Manager has the full Strictly Savvy team behind them - specialists across admin, accounts, creative, and more. They'll coordinate whoever is the right person for the task and manage it through to completion. You still deal with one person.
How does the global team fit in? Are they vetted to the same standard?
Our global team members work exclusively within Strictly Savvy. They're part of our team, held to the same standards, and trained the same way as our NZ-based staff. They work in the background as part of the full team behind your Role Manager.
Security
How do you keep my information confidential and secure?
Security and confidentiality are fundamental to how we operate. Here's what that looks like in practice:
Passwords: we use LastPass to store all login credentials. Our team can access what they need without ever seeing the raw passwords. Access can be revoked at any time.
File access: we use Microsoft SharePoint with group-level access controls, so only the team members authorised for your account can access your files.
Employee vetting: all team members undergo criminal conviction checks before joining.
Non-disclosure agreements: available on request.
Pricing and commitment
Is there a minimum term?
There is an initial three-month commitment. This reflects the significant investment we make during the implementation phase: role familiarisation, systems integration, process documentation, and workflow setup. After the initial three months, either party can end the engagement with four weeks' written notice.
How does billing work?
The first week's investment of $958 + GST is collected upon signing. From there, invoices are issued weekly in advance and collected via direct debit through GoCardless on the first Monday of every week.
What if it's not working out?
Talk to Brenna. Most issues come down to something adjustable and we'd rather fix it than lose you. If it's genuinely not the right fit, the engagement can be ended with four weeks' written notice after the initial three-month term. If there's a specific concern during the first three months, get in touch - we'll work through it.
