Welcome back to the AI Takeover Series on the Get Savvy podcast!
In part three, we're looking at how artificial intelligence can change how data and reporting is managed in your business.
If you're tangled in spreadsheets or dedicating too much time to compiling reports, AI is your new best friend. Integrating AI into your data management processes can free up your team to focus on what truly drives your business forward: strategic decision-making and growth.
Streamline your spreadsheets
Spreadsheets form the backbone of many business operations, often involving time-consuming setups and complex formulas. With advancements in artificial intelligence, there's no need to manually create every formula. AI tools like ChatGPT, Microsoft CoPilot, Google Gemini, or Meta.AI can significantly streamline this process.
For example, you could give AI prompts like:
How do I use the sum function to add up all values in column A in Google Sheets?
How can I nest multiple 'if' statements to assign grades based on scores in column C in Excel?
Create a formula that calculates quarterly growth rates based on historical data.
And then copy and paste the formula it creates into your chosen spreadsheet creation tool.
Data analysis
AI can be useful in deep data analysis with it's capability of processing vast amounts of information to forecast trends and provide insights.
Whether you’re forecasting sales, analysing customer behavior, or planning financially, AI's rapid data processing capabilities can help you ensure you’re basing decisions on the most current and comprehensive information available.
For example, you could upload a document or paste in several years' worth of sales data, and ask AI to make a prediction of what sales are going to be coming through in June based on that data.
Or, you could upload reports from your website's Google Analytics, and ask for information about any unusual spikes in user activity.
But here's a disclaimer! It's important with data analysis, as with any AI-driven processes, to fact check the data that is given to you, rather than just taking it at face value.
Graphs and tables created by AI
Visualising data can transform how it's interpreted and understood. AI tools like Dr. Graph (a custom GPT within ChatGPT that we have tested) can quickly turn raw data into engaging, informative graphs and tables that are not only accurate but are also customisable to your brand.
With this custom GPT specifically, you can simply copy and paste your data (or upload a document) into the chat and then tell the GPT what kind of graph you'd like it to create. Once the graph has been created, you can customise the colours to your liking and prompt the GPT with any other changes you may need.
Built-in AI capabilities
If you're utilising AI tools like Microsoft CoPilot or Google Gemini, you'll find that these advanced features are likely already woven into familiar platforms like Excel or Google Sheets. Check out the functionalities available within these tools to seamlessly boost your productivity without having to switch between AI applications to do so!
Embracing AI for data and reporting can revolutionise your business operations, allowing you to make swift, informed decisions, reduce manual tasks, and concentrate on strategic growth.
